OSHAWA — United Boxing Promotions today announced the company has agreed to a multi-year promotional contract with undefeated Oshawa, Ont. super middleweight prospect Jerome ‘The Wildcat’ Gabriel (4-0, 2 KO).
“I’m thrilled to announce the signing of Jerome Gabriel to a long-term contract,” said United president Tyler Buxton. “With an undefeated record and unmatched skill in the ring, Jerome has the values of dedication, perseverance and excellence that our organization stands for — I look forward to supporting him as he continues to rise through the ranks and build his fanbase with his remarkable talent.”
Gabriel made a triumphant return to the professional ring in April, when he eviscerated veteran Hector Santana inside the first round at the Pickering Casino Resort.
It was a statement performance for the ‘The Wildcat’, who came into the fight in top shape following significant time away from the sport — and has his eyes on super middleweight stardom.
“I’m very thankful to Tyler and United, he’s got me at the right time (and) I am ready for any challenges that come my way,” said the undefeated Gabriel. “I’m not concerned about baby steps, I have my eyes on the bigger picture, making it to the top and I don’t plan on wasting any time getting there!”
The signing of Gabriel is a further signal of United’s commitment to Durham Region, where it has sold out numerous events at the Pickering Casino Resort.
“It means the world, being able to fight at home,” reflected Gabriel. “Everyone around here knows what I do, and to be able to show them live just makes me more excited to get in there and be the best version of myself.”
