‘Bad Boy’ Cook Returns to World Stage Oct. 26th

JOHANNESBURG — Brandon ‘Bad Boy’ Cook is on the world stage once again, going big game hunting in South Africa October 26th.

Ontario fan favourite Brandon ‘Bad Boy’ Cook (26-2, 18 KO, WBO #12) will take his talents on the road on October 26th, when he will face undefeated South African challenger Shervantaigh Koopman (14-0, 9 KO) for the WBA Inter-Continental Super Welterweight Championship.

Cook previously held the belt in 2015, initially winning it against Gogi Knezevic and defending it five months later against Rafael Sosa Pintos.

“Bad Boy’s on a roll, with six straight wins since the Munguia fight,” said United Promotions president Tyler Buxton, who has represented Cook since his professional debut. “He has a chance to put himself in position for another World Title fight with a win over Koopman.”

The clash with Koopman will take place at the Emperor’s Place in Johannesburg, as the feature attraction on a Golden Gloves Promotions fight card.

October 26th will be Cook’s first fight outside of Canada since his 2018 World Title challenge against Jaime Munguia in Las Vegas; he also previously battled Kanat Islam in his home country of Kazakhstan.

Cook, of course, is no stranger to engineering a road win: Canadian boxing fans remember his stunning knockout of Steven Butler at the Bell Centre in Montreal in 2017.
