SEP. 20 – PICKERING FIGHT CARD CONFIRMED

PICKERING — Two Championship attractions and five intriguing matchups overall await September 20th at the Pickering Casino Resort.

Five action-packed fights will kick off United Boxing Promotions’ fall calendar on Sep. 20th at the Pickering Casino Resort, headlined by the return of world-ranked contender Sukhdeep ‘Chakria’ Singh and a WBA International Middleweight Championship contest between Melinda ‘The Whip’ Watpool and Natasha ‘The Nightmare’ Spence.

Limited tickets remain available via [email protected].

MAIN EVENT: SINGH-MACIEC, 10 rds., SUPER WELTERWEIGHT

Reigning IBF International Champion Sukhdeep ‘Chakria’ Singh (18-0, 8 KO, IBF #15) is back in action against former Polish and Baltic Champion Lukasz ‘Crazy Cat’ Maciec (29-7-1, 5 KO).

Singh enters off an electrifying 4th-round knockout of Gino Godoy in April, while Maciec is looking to build on a May victory over Pablo Sosa and rejuvenate his career.

World-ranked contender Sukhdeep Singh looks to take the next step against Polish veteran Lukasz Maciec on Sep. 20th.

Chakria will be hunting to become the first man to stop Maciec in his 37-fight career; the Pole is coming with every intention of securing another overseas upset win.

CO-MAIN EVENT: WATPOOL-SPENCE II, 10 rds., WBA INT’L MIDDLEWEIGHT

World number-one contender Melinda ‘The Whip’ Watpool (6-0, 2 KO, WBA #1) takes aim at her first championship in the Co-Feature, a 10-rounder for the WBA International Middleweight Championship against Natasha ‘The Nightmare’ Spence (8-5-2, 6 KO).

Sparks will fly in this potential fight of the night, a long-awaited rematch which Spence has been calling for since their first meeting — a confident Watpool decision win which Spence took on short notice — last December.

The Pefferlaw, Ont. native Watpool is on the cusp of a major World Title shot, and chasing her first-ever professional title; Spence is trying to spoil the party and kickstart this second chapter of her career into high gear.

Buckle up!

MCLAUGHLIN VS. BRAVO, 6 rds., WELTERWEIGHT

Local product Kyle ‘Caveman’ McLaughlin (4-0, 3 KO) puts his zero on the line against tough Argentine Sebastian ‘Pretty Boy’ Bravo (4-2-1, 2 KO) in an all-action 6-round contest.

McLaughlin scored a victory against Dylan Rushton in the fight of the night last time United was in Pickering, and will be stepping up in class against Bravo.

The Argentine visitor began his career undefeated in five, but has lost his last two fights — both in Canada — and will be looking to get his career back on track.

GILLARD VS. MEDINA, 6 rds., FLYWEIGHT

Oshawa flyweight Evan ‘Kid Chrome’ Gillard (6-0-1, 1 KO) once again takes a high-risk fight on home turf, this time squaring off with Argentina’s Matias Medina (2-0-1, 1 KO) in a battle of undefeated fighters.

Gillard overcame a knockdown in his last contest to defeat Sergio Rebolledo via split decision, and would love nothing more than to score a statement win in front of his fans on Sep. 20th.

Medina is fresh off a controversial draw in August against Francisco Gopar — and knows a victory in Canada would go a long way toward improving his career back home.

ZAREIAN VS. KRASUSKI, 4 rds., CRUISERWEIGHT

Towering cruiserweight Milad Zareian (2-0, 2 KO) returns to action against Polish veteran Hubert ‘Krasula’ Krasuski (1-4-1, 1 KO).

Zareian has dominated both fights in his young career, but Krasuski is his most durable opposition to date with just one stoppage loss in six outings.

The Sunderland, Ont. product will be looking to open the evening with another tally in the win column on his pursuit of a shot at the Canadian Cruiserweight Championship — but ‘Krasula’ has every intention of giving Zareian a rough ride in the former’s first fight outside of Poland.
